According to Nomisma data, purchases of organic products in modern distribution have reached 2.1 billion euros, with an increase of 4.7% compared to 2022. However, there is a stagnation in volumes (-0.3%).

During the workshop “Italy today and tomorrow: the social and economic role of organic products in Modern Distribution,” within the framework of Marca 2024 at the Bologna Fair, an updated snapshot of consumption of organic products in Italy, as monitored by Nomisma, was presented. The initiative is part of the Being Organic in Eu project promoted by FederBio in collaboration with Naturland and co-financed by the European Union under Regulation EU No. 1144/2014.
